Review for Pinebrook Villiage Apartments

This place IS going downhill since the management change . . . but let's start with the plusses.

The grounds are lovely, with ducks, streams, and waterfalls. The units are spacious split-levels with fireplaces and side-by-side washer/dryer hook-ups. The location is also very nice, on a pretty quiet street convenient to restaurants, shopping, and a community college.

Okay, now for the cons. This place used to be a great bargain, but since the remodel (if you ask me, there was nothing wrong with the way it looked before--they just added on some silly aesthetic things), this place hiked up the rent $100 and no longer pays water, gas, or trash. Couple that with there being NO guest parking. Zero. We can't even have guest passes issued any more, and good luck trying to find parking for your second vehicle in the early night hours (be prepared to circle the lot for 10-15+ minutes). Let's talk A/C: it's here, but it doesn't work. The A/C in our upstairs apartment could run 24/7 and this place still doesn't get cooler than 85--even in the winter and in the middle of the night! Speaking of A/C, it took the maintenance team over a year to figure out what was wrong with our air conditioner (and it STILL isn't totally fixed!). The A/C specialists said we needed a new unit, but apparently the apts. weren't willing to spring for one. Hm.

All in all, this place could be a lot worse. It's still a good deal considering some other places in town, but beware of the cons before you rent and see if you're willing to deal with them.
