The good stuff: 1) Great area! Location is great since it is within 10 mins to LAX, 15 mins to the beaches (Venice/Santa Monica), 15-20 mins to downtown LA, 15 mins to Beverly Center/Grove 2) Feels safe... Live on the first floor and able to leave my window open when sleeping. This is a gated community, and people do watch out for others. 3) Parking is great. You get one designated covered parking, but have to pay an additional $50 for another parking spot. Downside is that you'll have to park in a covered parking further away. 4) Great community environment~ From showing movies to barbeques in the common areas. Free brunch on Sundays (I haven't been able to wake up in time to try it) 5) Management is very helpful. They do change personnel a lot, but I think they are trying to keep the good people and great rid of the old.
The not so good stuff: 1) Security Management~ During my time, they've changed at least 4 times. Each time, I had to change parking sticker, but not much inconvenience. 2) Moving your stuff in here is very difficult. Cannot bring your car closer to your apartment. Make sure you have carts or a very strong friend. 3) Coachroaches... They fumigated my place twice, but they are still around. I usually see one/two every month. Other than that, it's ok. 4) Kids everywhere~ I love kids, but when they are screaming and playing till 10PM, I want to tell their parents to shut them up. 5) Lot of gardening and maintenance go on during the weekday. They want to beautify this place. If you live alone, it won't be a problem, but you if you are married, your significant other will be stressed out. 6) Cable~ make sure you live in the higher level for DirectTV or other satellite providers. There are too many trees here, and I've called and made appointments with three different providers and said they are unable to install it for my 1st floor apartment. Reason~ trees were blocking my southern view.
