Beware of the following if you are thinking of renting Siena Apartments:- - These are the old Las Hadas apartments and the name is changed to Siena - Lipstick on a pig - These apartments are NOT for long term stay: The new management will lure you with low rents in the beginning. Then, You will see steep increase in your rent the moment your first lease comes for renewal. My rent is being increased by 30%, unheard of any other apartments in Cupertino or in the neighborhood. And they are doing it with many other tenants. - Don't trust the apartment manager, Jack Hamilton: Make sure you form your own opinion and take your own decision rather than listening to Jack. He lies and acts innocent, but he is the one who recommends higher rent increases to look good to his new management. - Thefts: Be ready to spend few hundred dollars every month on buying new bikes. I and lot of my Siena apartment friends owning bikes, have lost one bike every three months. There are professional thiefs who frequently visit the apartments and can cut any kind of locks & chains to steal the locked bikes. When we complained to the manager, he says its not the apartment management responsibility, thefts are common in apartments. And when you call police they would advise you to take it up with the apartment management to employ some private security patrol. So, you will be sandwitched between the manager & the police and would keep loosing your bikes regularly. - Noise Level: One side of Siena Apartments face DeAnza Blvd and have a major strip mall with a chain of restaurants and a Rotten Robie gas station. In summers be ready to remain awake till 2 0r 3am in the morning because of the loud music, noise, all kind of shouting going on among the party go-ers outside these restaurants. We complained to Jack Hamilton and he did nothing and shows his helplessness. So, you will be helpless there. - Common Utilities: Remember the new Siena apartment management has started chrging all the common place utilities (Trash, severage, gas, water etc...) required to maintain and upkeep the aprtments. This would be additional cash outflow for you, on top of the monthly rent. On an average this amount will be somewhere between $ 55 to $ 125 per month. All this is new and suddenly added to all lease renewals, and its in addition to your own PG&E bill. - Looks of the aprtments: This is the only area where I would say the apartment management scores high, but again there is no security or patrol or gates. You will be surprised to find what goes on, in the Siena apartment complex. During night and even during the day you will find all unwanted people from outside Siena apartment freely move around and indulge in all kind of activities, some of them very indecent exposures and scenes. We told the manager (Jack Hamilton) many times and he shows his helplessness and does nothing.
