THE GOOD: This was our first time renting an apartment and the atmosphere is really nice. We got a really good deal and a garage was even thrown in. It is gated and even has a trail that goes around the apartment that runs into the neighborhoods. We were blessed to have good neighbors and even got to know some of them pretty well. They allow bigger sized dog breeds, so if you have any pets, it shouldn't be a problem.
THE BAD: Being the first-time movers, we decided to move in the day we signed the lease, which now we know was a big mistake. When we walked into the actual apartment we would be staying in, there were a ton of things that needed to be fixed. Not only that, but the model that we were told was going to be the EXACT replica, was nowhere near what we saw. There is a spot on the wall where you can put a tv, so that there is no need for an entertainment center. The model was a lot bigger than our apartment, so we ended up having to return the tv we bought and purchase a smaller one. When Stonelake was consulted, they said that all apts were not the same as the model! We received a measley $100 off our lease for the first month.
THE UGLY: I think that the common denominator for all apartment complexes is that the girls have no idea what they're doing. As soon as we moved in, there was a bathroom drawer missing! They promised that it would be installed within a week. It ended up becoming 2 months. If you want ANYTHING to get done, speak directly to Dawn and she'll help you get things done. Don't even waste your time with the girls in the office. They have no idea what they're doing and just want to reel you in to rent. Recently, we received a notice that within 30 days, they will not be accepting UPS packages at the front office if you are not home. Christmas is next month. Isn't that convenient!
Overall, Stonelake is a nice apartment, but I would suggest that you look at the apartment that you are actually going to be moving into, until you sign the lease. The models are NOT the same as the actual apartments. After everything with the lease is done, things calm down a bit and it is a nice atmosphere to live in.
