Review for The Woods Apartments

The new ownership and management -- what can I say? They raised rents exponentially, yet put only bandaids on the problems. They're "refurbishing" the apartments...chair rails in the living room? New light fixture in the bathroom? Yippee. After living there a year and a half, after paying my rent on time and being the proverbial model tenant, the new ownership was going to raise my rent $155/month, add pet rent of $25/month per pet, and add a water bill of approximately $55 per month. Now that I've moved out (couldn't afford to stay), they haven't yet returned my deposit. According to California law, landlords have 21 days to return your security deposit. I'm now on the 31st day and still have not gotten my deposit. They're telling me it will be "next week" before I receive it. Funny, but that's what they told me last week. Go figure.
