Apartment Reviews for The Woods Apartments
Poor Management -

Prior to Essex Property Trust and the new Property Manager Rea Rivera taking over, this was a nice place to live. Ms. Rivera is incompetent. She made our move-out a pain by not responding to emails, reneging on her word to return our phone calls, difficulty in scheduling and carrying out the move-out inspection, and her nit-picking ways to find ways to keep our deposit. Add to this while while throwing away garbage on Jan. 28 into the onsite dumpster that sits catty-cornered from the apartment office, I saw a report titled “Essex Aged Receivables Report” on the top of some refuse in the dumpster. The report has the complex’s 81 tenant’s names, apartment number, security deposit amount, rent amount, how each tenant pays their rent (i.e. via the Housing Authority), and whether a tenant is past due and by what amount. The report had been run on Jan. 25. On Feb. 3, I told Ms. Rivera about this improperly discarded report. She disavowed any knowledge of the report and became defensive. She told me that she does not want to hear about “some random report” taken from some dumpster. I read from report. It appeared then she understood that this was a bona fide report. I reported this improperly-discarded report to her corporate office. The office assistant, Michelle Balzarini, also made our move-out a pain. It seems like Ms. Rivera and Ms. Balzarini do not communicate. Find another place to rent; The Woods has management problems.
