I have lived at Homestead for 6 years now! Best apartment community i have ever lived in! i came accross these reviews and think its funny that they will turn people away because people like myself who actually LOVE living here dont take the time to write good reviews. Only those who have had a bad experiance will tell about it.!
Homesteads great and the office staff and mantainance is amazing! Couldnt imagine living elsewhere!!!

It's funny that people put this place down, it is NOT that bad at ALL. It has it's moments, but overall I'm happy. I've lived here for five years and if I had problems I wouldn't keep living here, I would move out, so it can't be that bad if you have lots of issue's but still live here. They explain in detail the parking so if your car get's towed that is because you thought you could TRY and get away it. I would tell my friends and family to live here. I love living here.

I've been here since August People are making this sound like a **** hole!! I have lived her since August and its not that bad at all!! Parking is short on guest parking (prob like 30 spots) but at last we have guest parking! And I PAY to live here, nto guests so yes there should be more resident parking than guest! I NEVER have had a problem parking, not once. There is ALWAYS somewhere to park behind the gates. And for you stupid people who park at Target, YES the TOW it SAYS SO ON THE SIGN!!! When you move in, the manager warned us, "DON'T PARK BEHIND THE GATES IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED." This is a good thing for those of us who live there! Why would we want people who come and party to park in the spots WE PAY FOR?? Think about it!!!
We had a leak in my bedroom, a pretty bad one. Maintnace was there within a few days (had to wait a few b/c it was raining) and fixed the hole and were VERY nice about it!
I have NEVER had a noise problem. Its by far the quietist place I have ever lived. They are always cleaning up and doign gardeing to keep the place looking nice. Who doesn't wanna pay $1600 a month and have a nice place?
Its not as bad as people think it is. These are just supid people who are mad they got caught for breaking the rules! Managment has almost 800 apartments to take care so chill out!
Not to mention there are 4 pools that are always clean and heated! Managment is very nice and are always saying hi to me and asking how things are.

I have lived here for almost a year. I just viewed this website today for the first time. It appears most of the reviews here are made by people who have had unfortunate experiences and should not reflect the reality of life at the Homestead. The fact that there are hundreds of units here, litterally, and only about 17 reviews says something. This place has been around since the 70's. Compared to other apartments I've lived in which have been around just as long, this place is well taken care of. The tile in our unit is all new, and they added some addtional tile on request when I moved in. We got a great discount for the first nine months of our lease and saved a total of 900 bucks as a result. The management staff was very friendly and did a great job when we moved in (except the Plaza apt manager, she though way too much of herself), however, recently we met our new mgr and she is somewhat less helpfull. This is expected, I can't remember the last time I had a really good apartment manager, can you?? The grounds are beautifull, lots of greenery, creates a mellow feeling. The parking is marginal, we have an assigned spot which is always available, and access to an open spot, which we rarely have trouble finding. No guest parking is a pain though. The fact that this place is two blocks from the college should tell you something. Don't move in if you don't want to live in a college town. Use some common sense, if you elderly and looking for peace and quite, this is not your place. If you like not worrying about making some noise of your own every once in a while, and having neighbors hip enough to not be up in your grill, then this is the place for you. The pools are cold and the jacuzzi is luke warm which really sucks, becuase the jacuzzis are in a good spot and would rock out if they were super hot. This place overall in good. We have enjoyed living here for the most part and are considering extending the lease, if they turn up the jacuzzis. They are cat friendly. They have lots of spiders from time to time, I've found two black widows on the patio, but your surrounded by nature, so deal with it. Maybe we lucked out with a good unit, or maybe everyone else who wrote a review needs to find something constructive to do with their life besides complain about the fact they have enough money to pay rent and live in north Orange County. This place is located in a good spot, right near the freeway (stay away from the side of the community, it's the only place where the noise can be a problem, we're in the middle and can never hear it), easy access to the 57 and right across the street from Target in case you need to pick something up or eat some bad food. I would reccomend this place to anyone who enjoys living, and can't afford to buy a home. Don't be fooled by other reviews, I tell no lie. Fullerton tokers town, a kick *** place to call home.

The complex is beautiful, the rooms are well put together. The manager of our unit is very understanding. My only complaints are that there is no guest parking (and we have had a car towed for parking at target) so if you have more than one car per room you might want to think about another place or carpool! It is very loud and more pricy, but i understand that those are expected things for a complex next door to a college (supply and demand... lots of party students) yet i doubt its as bad as frat row. there are kid here (which can be a good or bad thing depending on wether you like kids... none of them are poorly mannered) other than that i enjoy living there very much! just taking into consideration the issues at hand rather than accepting/ignoring it!

Alright, not to go into TOO much detail...here are the good parts
-scenery...good trees and landscaping
And now the bad parts
-not many college students, no social life after 10pm
-place was not put together well....drawers dont work, ceiling is weak in winter.
-mangement doesnt know how to spend money...no improvents to rentals
-spas arent hot
-bbq's dont all work, yet you still have to pay for the gas everyone else uses.
there are more good and bad things, i just dont have the energy, but this should give you college students a good heads up...
