Review for Casa Del Sol Apartments

I have lived here for going on 4 years next month and I am going to finally move out. Over the past 4 years the place has consistantly gone down hill and just gotten worse while the rent has consistantly gone up. It has just gotten too bad.

When I first moved in the yards and parking was well maintained and clean. Now the yards are clean, but the parking is a mess. Trash all over the parking lots, beer bottles and cans under your cars, furniture blocking the road and people just parking anywhere - not even in the marked spaces. I have had my car blocked in numerous times. The storm drains used to flow very well. But this last rainy season the drains were not cleaned and several vehicles, including mine were damaged by 3 foot high flooding in the parking lot. Of course the management refused to reimburse me for the repairs.

When I first moved in there was not any crime. Now my vehicle has been broken into and they did not even take anything! Several of my neighbors have also had their cars broken into. And at least three of us have had our tires flattened after beer bottles were placed under our tires and we drove over them. One of my neighbors even had someone crawl in through her bedroom window!

When I first moved here the parking was tolerable. Now it is absolutely crazy. The security gates have never worked and 3 months ago new ones were installed. Guess what? The new ones are not working either. There are lots and lots of old vehicles, possible stolen cars and cars belonging to people who do not even live here at Casa Del Sol that are stored in the parking spaces for up to 6 months. Since all of these vehicles are stored here I have not been able to park here on at least 2 different times and have been forced to park outside of Ralphs. I complained once to the management and was told that they cannot tow any vehicles, even if they do not belong on Casa Del Sol property. Instead they issued me a new parking sticker. Hmmm. I guess that this is a public dumping grounds for cars now. And since I pay my rent on time and actually live here I am not allowed to park here. How does that make sense? They really need to fix the parking problems.

When I first moved in the neighbors were pleasant. Now there are children running the sidewalks yelling and screaming even at 10:00 P.M.. There is constantly trash in the laundry rooms as people are too lazy to take their trash to the dumpster. There is even a guy who rides his dirt bike 50 m.p.h. right through the parking lot at 6 a.m.. The neighbors to the side of me are always playing their music loud and letting their cat run around. (Cats are supposed to be indoors only.) The neighbors above me have some sort of vacuum fetish and like to vacuum at 3 in the morning every Saturday. The management has been alerted of all of this and it still continues.

There was one period of time about 4 months ago that my unit kept on having some plumbing problems. First it was the bathroom tub backing up. Then it was the kitchen sink overflowing while the upstairs neighbors were using their garbage disposal and I had their food and garbage overflow onto my kitchen. This went on for about 2 months and about 6 times of flooding before they finally fixed it for good. I am so glad that it does not happen anymore. Every time I called the "Emergency" line I had to wait at least 30 minutes before the maintenance man called back - all the while the flooding continued - then I had to wait 30 minutes to an hour more before he got there!

I am sure that there is somewhere else around here that will not be as expensive and will not give such bad problems.
