Review for Harborscape Apartments

This was our first real experience with an apartment complex and after this complex and Cannon Management I would never rent again ever!! Huntington Beach is a beautiful and wonderful place to live and I highly recommend this area but NOT this complex. The positive side of this complex is the area (near the beach), pet friendly, and the maintenance gentlemen is extremely helpful and respectful! The negative side..
The manager never gave us the signed copy of the lease due to "printer error" and never gave the lease after numerous attempts. The apartment complex is noisy!! We were located on the upper floor and there was this family with a young child that kept screaming at early hours and the manager never handled this issue after numerous complaints. I watched a neighbor handle the issue before the manager ever came out. The complex has NO amenities! NO POOL, NO NOTHING -- for $1450 for a two bedroom, one bath in the area.. You can rent a nicer apartment with better amenities that have air conditioning. The Green belt area had dog feces from larger animals that was left on the grounds at all times. Unsanitary for young children playing in the grass!
As for the complex it was pretty empty when we decided to leave. We cleaned the place and left it in better condition then it was given. Like the last tenant we also asked for a walk through which never happened. We then received a bill in the mail from cannon Management that they were charging for ludicrous charges that were pure maintenance and up keep on their part. In addition to keeping our deposit they additionally charged us...
We disputed this with the manager and Cannon Management and no one ever returned our phone calls. To this day we are still disputing these charges!!!
Overall experience is a negative ... Too much hassle.. and since they have plenty of apartments that are empty... I think they are trying to charge for loss of tenants.
