Apartment Reviews for Regents La Jolla
UCSD DORM

GOOD: These are great apartments with great amenities! There are two great pools, several great cabanas, a movie theater, and a clubhouse. The staff is courteous and helpful. The maintenance people keep the place amazingly clean; I couldnt be more impressed. Theres even a security card 24/7.
BAD: I live in a boys college dorm! Unfortunately, the management lease to a great number of college students and they pack in like rats. With UCSD next door, this is not surprising. The apartments around me are at least 50% students with many units (2 bed/2 bath/den) being occupied by as many as 6 students. These are obviously young boys since the furniture of choice is multiple child bunk-beds and the apartment decorated with a bong and empty Coors Light cans. Trust me - these kids arent living here because its a great place to study. They live here and pack in like rats because of the great amenities and social atmosphere. The design of the complex with apartments separated only by a small courtyard clearly makes noise the biggest problem! Many of my neighbors only come out at night. Even though security will deal with major noise problems, drunks talking on their patio at 3 a.m. can be very annoying. I also hear my neighbors continually talking on their cell-phones outside my window at all hours of the night. With 6 people living in their apartment, theyd rather share their phone conversation with everyone in the complex than their five roommates.
SUMMARY: I love my apartment and the complex; however, I cant wait to move out. The noise and the social climate are far worse than any place Ive lived in before and this includes places that are rated very poorly on this site. If you want to live among adults, this place is NOT for you. If you dream of those college dorm days, Im sure they can make room for you. Heck, you can probably pack in with five of your friends.
