Good And Bad

First, we moved here from another state and with 2 of us the girl who was helpin us set up our lease decided she'd tell one of us one price and the other another and hope we didn't catch her. We didn't, and thus got ripped off.
When we got here, no one was in the office as promised, and we had been driving for 3 days, it would have been nice to not wait in the parking lot for 2 hrs before someone finally showed up. The maintenance guys wouldn't give us a key, despite the moving truck we had.
The apartment has its good points tho. Its fairly nice, despite the hairs painted into the walls. Its an older complex so there have been quite a few electrical problems, but they were addressed promptly.
The management are not that great, but thats the same everywhere. There were a couple of good ones and a few bad ones, but management changes so quickly its rarely the same people each time i go into the office.
The maintenance guys are extremely helpful and accomodating.
This is one of the few apartment complexes anywhere in this area that allow "big" dogs(over 50 lbs) and more than one dog. Since dog friendly complexes are so few and far between here they can REALLY take advantage of you though. Orange county is NOT a place for animal lovers. They charge huge deposits PER pet PLUS a non refundable "pet rent" that i never saw anywhere else, which is another 10-50 per pet per month.
Despite it being known as a dog friendly complex, and with all the wonderful other dog owners here(a lot of great tenants) there are still TONS of people with kids. I wonder why they had to pick this place and ruin it for the dog people but i digress.
A friend of mine who lived here for years left recently because she was accosted late one night in the parking lot, by drunk guys throwing things at her and yelling. I haven't heard of any other safety problems, but wouldn't be surprised.
Basically, the apartments are OK if u have big dogs and really need to live here. Not as bad as some places,(parking is hellish if u need more than just one spot) but the shady dealings i have had with the management, and general attitude of socal = i'm gettin OUT of here.
