Only one parking spot is provided for a 2B/2B, and it's pretty impossible to find parking nearby if you get here after 6 or 7 p.m., so forget about having guests over unless you figure out a parking battle plan. Old fixtures and cabinets and it seems to me that my stove/oven are perpetually leaking gas, so I like to leave the balcony door open to air out the place. The balcony is a nice touch, but it has bad drainage so water tends to build up an inch+ high whenever it rains. No matter how clean you keep the place, you'll inevitably get nightly visits in the kitchen from little cockroach friends -- they've got to be traveling through the walls or something. Neighbors keep to themselves for the most part, so that part isn't so bad. It's mostly families, so they seem to be their own security system, watching over the place (and you). The street is a mess -- trash and old furniture littering the sidewalks. Neighborhood kids hang out by their cars at night, which could get a little worrying, but I feel relatively safe walking down the street or to/from my faaar parking spots late at night. The main plus for this place is the price: It's ridiculously cheap, especially considering its size and proximity to cool Vermont/Hillhurst joints in Los Feliz (walkable), Hollywood clubs on Vine, Highland and Cahuenga ($5-8 cab ride), and the nearest Metro Rail station (red line is less than a half-mile away). The final verdict: Cool place to live short-term or if you're on a permanent budget crunch, but I wouldn't stay here any longer than I needed to.
