It's true, the lofts are gorgeous. But LA's largest homeless shelter is 2 blocks away & the city has just approved the conversion of the building next door into another shelter.
This is not the hip & thriving community vibe you see advertised. Management has changed hands several times; current team do not follow-through on promises or follow-up on maintenance or phone calls.
Noone expects downtown to be like the suburbs, which is why a lot of us have moved to this area. But walking to nearby Little Tokyo restaurants you can count on being approached by aggressive panhandlers & worse, and Bank District galleries, bars & gyms are inaccessible by foot (I'm a single female) due to streets thick w/ homeless living in tents & cardboard boxes.
Almost every day these last two weeks I have witnessed arrests within 2 blocks of Little Tokyo Lofts, if not directly outside.
