Too Little Too Late

Every other review on here is right on. I live at Hollywood Place because I have a dog, but I don't let her poop in the hallways! The one time she had an accident, I took care of it and cleaned it up, like I would expect the other dog owners to do as well. But they don't usually it's the bitches with the little chihuahas that kill me. It takes just a couple of people to ruin for everybody.

As for security? I got my car broken into IN THE "SECURED" GARAGE a couple years ago. There have been more than a few break-ins over the years I've been there.

The apartments are small, but the renovated ones ARE nice, especially if you have a city view. I wouldn't call them luxury, though. I do love my view of LA...it's my main reason for staying there.

Lately, we have new management that lives on property and things have really been improving. They re-did the pool, the gym and built a nice new BBQ area and fire pit. They painted the building, put in new security fences, new security lighting behind the building (but not much on the security guard front-they changed companies, but they are as invisible as the last one). Things are improving slowly, but they did jack up my rent and forced me into a 9-month lease when I only wanted 6. They are very ready to bust you on any late fees or anything they need from you, like renters insurance, which they now require (I carry it anyway).

Unfortunately, the high-priced housing market has driven up rentals, since no one can afford to buy... I looked around, and unfortunately, it was still a better deal for me to renew my lease than go somewhere else, plunk down new deposit monies, and incur all the expenses that go with moving. In other words, they've got me by the ballz. I'm paying $200 a month more now than when I moved in.

I've lived in enough apartments to know there are always problems, but at $1800 a month, I would expect more.
