The former tenants who did not to purchase at ltl lost out on a great deal. 1st off $511 dollars a sq/ft is a bargain if you compare that to 42st in Manhattan where it is about $1000 per sf/ft. The LAPD has been working very hard to clean up the streets. Since I have rented my loft the problem has been getting better every day. The heated pool is sparkling clean and the hot tub is always hot just like the women who frequent it. I have never seen any problems with the elevators and the 24hr. security staff is friendly and helpful at all times. If you had listened to the advice of one of the former tenants to go buy at a newer development in a better area, for instance, the place by Union Station, you would still have been a renter and not an owner because they folded. I love my courtyard level apartment with french doors. I am glad my landlord gave me this opportunity.

As a former resident, i know what it is like to actually live here. This is real downtown living and everything i was looking for at the time. I had lived in NYC, Boston and Washington DC prior to living here and the menacing skid row image that is portrayed here is flat wrong. The mission is not far away but the folks who use it will not bother you if you do not bother them. I have been reading about the overhall to the way the city deals with skid row and i know that it will help clean up 5th street. I watched as Hoboken NJ went through a similar phase and wish i still had my brownstone there. This place is great.

While there were students @ LTL during my stay there, most of the people I knew were successful creative professionals who planned on purchasing their lofts until promised incentives (like rent-to-own options) soured.

On the other hand, it's easy for new owners to clear out renters: when I left last year, management office was open unpredictably, maintenance requests took weeks, & continual construction noise made business impossible (these are after all 'live/work' spaces with majority of residents working from home). With the terrible homeless situation visibly getting worse & clients becoming more reluctant to come to LTL I cleared out last year in disappointment.

I first found Little Tokyo lofts because a girlfriend of mine looked at the building twice and then moved there. I stay with her a lot because of my jewelry business. I wonder if all the negativity is because the building is being sold and people can't afford to be owners. Every tenant I've met are awesome working polite people. Of course the area is not perfect right now. Aren't these angry people aware of the developments going on downtown? It's a done deal! My friends loves the building and I like it and see the potential. Check it out for yourself.

Beautiful building, tight community, however since new mangement took over to assist in condo conversion standards have slumped, work orders can take weeks & phone calls go unanswered for up to a month.

I moved into the building at the beginning. Still under contruction. Wasn't a pretty sight, or sound much less. After the first month, things settled down and were running pretty well. Around the beginning if 2004, the Owners brought in a great team of Management to stabalize things and it's been the best experience. They take great care of the building and take awesome care of the folks that live here. There isn't anything that they wouldn't do for any of us. I love my loft. I favor hardwood floors and they're beautilful. The people that live here are awesome. Everybody's so friendly and down to earth. I couldn't ask for a better place to live.
