Apartment Review for Mozaic

We have lived at Mozaic since January 2007. <P>
The number one complaint we have with Mozaic is that they do not have control of their dog population. Many owners do not pick up after their dogs, leaving piles along side walks, making the dog run a landmine field, and causing all dog owners to get kicked out of surrounding open spaces owned by the U.S. Post Office and Union Station. We stopped complaining because all we got were excuses and minor remedies that did not solve the problem. <P>
The second biggest complaint we have is that security is not good. The front gate is often broken - making it easy for anyone to gain access to the building; cars are vandalized; outdoor lights are burned out; and some of the tenants themselves are vandals, damaging common area property. <P>
There are other things that make Mozaic undesirable: <P>
Guest parking is rarely available. It is always full, and there is no street parking. Guests have to park and pay at Union Station. <P>
Also, the surrounding area is very noisy. We do not live in the building near the train tracks, so do not hear the trains. But, Union Station buses idle day and night for hours in front of our building, and the Union Station public announcement system is audible day and night. The worst noise is the Union Station traffic controllers who blow their whistles mercilessly for hours directing traffic in front of the station. On the other side is the Mexican cultural center, which has frequent open-air concerts. Recently, a concert blasted us till 2:00 a.m. with music so loud that, except for the distortion, it felt like we were attending the concert ourselves. <P>
