Review for Park Labrea Apartments

DO NOT LIVE HERE: HERE IS MY STORY -
I lived in the tower apartments. It was nice a roomy but with thin walls and complaining neighbors. The hallway smelt bad most of the time because of the cooking smells. Mind you all the apartments are hooked up to central heating so you cannot turn the heat up or down and they leave it on even when it is HOT outside.
Anyway I digress. I moved into my apartment in September 2008 and quickly vacated in February 2009. (Over priced plus I was relocating for work). I gave them my 30 day notice with confirmation from some rude girl in Administration and a quick email response from their “Resident Accounting” lady.
I stopped living here in January and had been living 6 hours away. The day I plan to move out, I find a note on my door with an eviction note because my rent is late, but apparently my check wasn’t signed properly so now they tack on a late fee. (twice they’ve done this to me and they are very particular about their checks – the least they can do is call!) Whatever, I thought, because it is my last day there and I will never have to deal with them again sooooo…
I turn in my keys and leave my check with the Admin lady (this time it’s a really sweet lady) who gives me a MOVEOUT form to sign and date. All done! I’m out of there… I never have to deal with them again. Just 21 days til I receive my deposit!
….BOY WAS I WRONG. I notice that PLB hadn’t cashed my check so I call and email the accounting lady and get absolutely no response from her. Just a couple days ago I receive a summons from LA Superior Court for eviction! WHAT THE HECK. I’M NOT LIVING THERE ANYMORE!!!!! So of course I call again, getting extremely angry at the Admin people who keep connecting me with answering machines, not people. Finally the girl sees how angry I am and says she spoke with the accounting lady and relayed a message to me. I asked her why she wouldn’t speak to me herself and the Admin says, “She’s busy with projects and doesn’t have time to talk to anyone”. Bullcrap!!! Also she says the whole matter is now out of PLB’s hands and I must call some law office to deal with this.
..eventually this all got settled and I hope I never have to deal with these low-life, scamming people.
PS – I AM NOT GETTING MY $500 deposit back. I don’t care. I just don’t want to deal with them anymore. Which I assume is what they want.
