Apartment Reviews for Victor On Venice - Los Angeles

You're sleeping soundly in your gorgeous luxury apartment, it's around 4:30 in the morning on a Saturday or Sunday, when suddenly, out of nowhere, the loudest, most piercing noise you've ever heard in your life penetrates your head, your apartment, in fact the whole building you're in! For the tenants at the Victor on Venice, this was the scene TWICE within the last couple of weeks. Apparently, people smoking in the halls and stairwells are setting the fire alarm off. And once the noise starts, it doesn't stop. There's no escaping it! It seems like about half the residents evacuate and chat outside while the other half somehow manage to stay in their apartments. Within minutes, the local fire department shows up to turn the alarm off. The good news is that they are getting faster at figuring out how to switch it off. 15 days ago when this happened, it took them about 25 minutes. Last night it was off in about 15. If you suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I would highly recommend finding another place to live. But if you're a fireman, WELCOME to our community. I have no idea how we can stop this alarm from going off (it is, of course, accurately detecting smoke), but at least we'd get it turned off faster! <P>
