Quiet and safe ( over a year ago )

Reviewed by: Anonymous
This building is clean and safe and quiet. The rooms are big and several people can share it (there are two bathrooms as well).
It's near Westwood Villiage and high enough so that you get the clean ocean air from the west.
The manager keeps a close eye on things and makes sure nobody is allowed in who doesn't belong.

This apartment building is in a good location, close to UCLA and all of the businesses and restaurants in the Westwood area. It’s located in a place, above Westwood, where the fresh air from the ocean blows in (and there are good views as well from the rooftop pool).
It's an okay apartment in terms of the building and room layouts. The place is dead quiet and fairly safe in the sense that the manager Eugene watches EVERYBODY like a hawk. He knows exactly who comes in and out of the building. This is a very quiet place to live in. The manager is tough but he keeps building clean and safe. If you have any questions, you may call the main office. The staff there are nice.
The rooftop pool is always clean and there is a sundeck. The parking is gated for security, which is important. This place has many standard features: fireplace, laundry on each room, elevators..
The apartments are big and you have parking, plenty of parking. The manager always knows what's going on and who lives there and who doesn't: So you're very safe. It's a good place to live and the price is decent! The place is clean.

The manager is consistently harassing and abusive and attempts to bully and intimidate residents. He selects them on the basis of discriminatory criteria, selecting primarily women and Asian-American college students, on the theory they are easiest to intimidate and least likely to complain. Both he and the management company are totally dishonest and stealing part or all of the deposit is the tip of the iceberg. It is not a coincidence they have been sued multiple times. They prey on the naive. On top of the financial fraud/theft, the building is an unsafe place to live, because of the manager (Eugene) who among other things, enters peoples apartments without notice or permission, both when they are out and, at times, when they are at home, intercepts or steals packages and countless other illegal activities. He works at most 2 hours/day (10-12 in the morning) and the fact that any maintenance occurs is purely a function of the maintenance staff.
There is no reason anyone should ever choose to live in this building. I regret it and if I'd known when I moved in what I know now, you could not have paid me to live there.

To many, Eugene can be a bad manager. He harassed my guest, telling them things like "don't ever come back" too! But the good thing is that this guy always knows what's going on and who lives there and who doesn't: So technically you're very safe. However, I moved out about 2 months ago and haveYET to receieve my deposit. He is never in his office, even if you have an appointment with him. But it's a good place to live and the price is decent!

The manager harasses my guests (who are not rowdy, noisy or anything that warrants a "don't ever come back"), threatens to call the cops on them, etc. Additionally he is of no help when things are broken. There is plenty of parking, but this is if you can live with having a jerk for a manager.
