While I have never lived in a property managed by William Holdings, yeah I dogged a bullet with that one thanks to you guys, I do have to say that even trying to get an apartment with them is like dealing with a crooked used car salesman.
I looked at one apartment and then when I filled out the paperwork I noticed that it wasn't the same unit. I questioned them and they said it's just like the unit you saw, but it's just on a different floor, when I asked to see the unit before I signed anything they couldn't let me because the previous tenant hadn't left yet. When I said I wasn't signing anything without seeing the unit first miraculously the unit was available to be viewed. It was significantly smaller. I told her I wasn't interested and thank you.
A couple weeks later I happened upon another unit in a different neighborhood that I wanted to see. You guessed it William Holdings again. I thought maybe it was just a fluke and I would give it another try. This time I was shown a unit that was still occupied, BTW if it were me you would have never been let in the door. It was lovely and I said I would consider it, I was then told that I should also take a look at this unit closer to where I actually wanted to be. After a nightmare of problems and communication issues, I was finally able to see the unit. The person showing could see by the look on my face, probably had something to do with the stench of the apartment, that I was not amused. He then informed me of another place nearby that I really needed to see, we get over there and it's over $250 more than I have told him I am able to spend. Seeing that I am not the oh-my-god-I-fell-in-love-with-the-place-and-am-willing-to-not-pay-all-of-my-other bills-so-I-can-live-here type person he quickly lost interest in me and proceeded to walk out ignoring me along the way.
I then call the main office and I ask about the unit I had taken a look at and am told it's not available, but there is another one in that building (back to the bait and switch), but the better idea is that I take the unit I just looked at and then later if I'm not happy there I can move to another William Holdings property. Oh yeah, because I have unlimited amounts of money and time to move every three months, and have my utilities turned on and off.
This is the point I was at when I found this site and the reviews. I have to say that Thom was very nice and I liked him a lot, but the rest of ht people I had to deal with make me grateful that I didn't get involved with them. If this is the way they treat you as they are trying to get your business, I can't even imagine how bad it would be if they had me tied to a year lease.
PS All of you with rat and roach problems call the Health Department. They will be forced to clean the place thoroughly or suck up major fines. Call them anytime something is wrong and sooner or later William Holdings will get it.
