Review for 886 Cleveland St. Apartments

This Julia Morgan designed apartment complex is beautiful--the landlords keep the exterior looking fresh; the garden is lush; the outside was somewhat recently re-painted. However, the walls and floors are very thin, and noise travels far. Not the ideal place to live if you need to study during the day, nor if you want to sleep well at night.

The security gate was also added recently, but many tenants still leave it open, so it's really not that much safer than when we were without it.

The landlord and manager aren't quick about fixing things. My windows don't stay up; instead of fixing them they asked me to buy a special kind of screw from Ace Hardware to keep the windows up. Missing tiles in the bathroom were never replaced, despite a message I left on the manager's machine.

There's a pretty high turnover rate it seems, but they always rent apartments out quickly as well because of how nice it looks on the outside.

Parking is extra, but for a strip Cleveland St. has no street cleaning and much street parking. My car did get broken into once in two years, though.
