Review for Stanford Parke Apartments

The location is nice -- on the top of a hill with good views, and the units themselves are fine. 60s era, wall to wall carpet, balconies, good storage and closet space. Electric stovetop is a bummer. Those are the good parts. The bad part is that the landlord/owner is not trustworthy. He raised my rent illegally three consecutive years above the legal limit, with without a just cause eviction ordinance, it was tough to fight unless you want to risk getting evicted. Since then, Oakland has a just cause ordinance, but you'd be wise to avoid the landlord at all costs.
