I went to La Veta Grand with two of my other roomates and this place is a joke. First of all before we moved in we saw the model and we weren't allowed to see the place until the day we moved in! Then we were promised a garage and a washer and dryer hook ups and after we signed our lease they told us that we didn't have either.
The parking is a joke. I live in the aprtments that have three bedrooms and there is only one person who gets an assigned spot and the other two have to fight for parking. I lived there for a year and I think I actually got a spot twice. I normally would have to walk two or three blocks in the most unlit unsafe neighborhood. There were signs all over talking about women who were attacked! And then one night we heard 4 gun shots!
Then there are the parties. I know we live by Chapman college, but I have a full time job and I have to get up at 530 everymorning and the Tuesday night parties that lasted until 3 or 4 in the morning are ridiculous! There was one night where there was a guy walking up and down the streets playing bagpipes!
Then the cockroaches!! Our apartment was clean, and there were still cockroaches that lived in our cabinets. The people that lived next door to us were so dirty that there were cockroches that were always outside of our door. And even walking around the block I stepped on cockroaches every other day.
So to top it all off my car has been hit twice there, someone jumped on my hood and dented it. I came out to my car one morning to find a foot print on my hood with a dent in it. And then another morning where someone had been parking and hit the back of my car! So my brand new car is now a joke with dents and scratches on it! My boyfriends car also had his truck broken into. Someone broke into his tano cover and took things out of the back of truck.
This place is so over priced and so not worth living here. The noise, the traffic the zero parking the cockroaches and the obnoxious, stupid college kids that have zero respect for anyone but themselves. This place is not worth living here. I would say you are better to live in your car then at La Veta Grand!
