Apartment Review for The Meridian

If you are looking for a place for a short time lay-over, Meridian is a nice place to stay. The pools and spas are pleasant and the views of the court yards are nice, as well. If youre looking for a place to call home, youre definitely looking in the wrong place. The garbage disposals for ALL the units can be heard two doors down when they run. Orange has no Rent-Control laws, so Meridian can afford to increase the rent until they stop getting applicants. Two Hospitals in the area use Meridian for their transient workforce, which stay on the average of 12 weeks. This puts the rest of the residents in a dreadful position. We have learned that our rent is scheduled to increase between 18% - 20%, which has forced us to look else where. We found several places in Irvine to move to, that are no more than 10 miles from Meridian, which are on average $200 below Meridian for similar sized units, and have not increased their rent more than 7 % in the past 5  6 years. In a nutshell  you can think of the place as a resort, but dont dare try to think of it as home. <P>
