Apartment Review for The Terrace Apartments

The Terrace is undergoing a remodel. Great!, except they are jacking up rental rates to pay for it in advance. The "clubhouse" that practically no one uses because the office staff are so disagreeable, is being Un-necessarily remodeled as well (it was in pristine condition). They "trimmed the trees" using a chainsaw on a rope...so I wouldn't be surprized if the trees they left don't die soon. They ripped out beautiful mature hedges to paint a long, ugly wall pink, so now the front entrance looks like a gay prison. There are non-resident people walking in and out of the "gated" entrance because they block it open all day long, right next to the "Block" at Orange, a major teenager hangout, and just across the street is the Juvinile Detention Center from which they release detainees onto The City Drive. The management staff lie. They don't return phone calls and they try to keep your deposit for even the smallest deviation from their "rules" when you move out. I will probrably have to get a lawyer and spend 1500 dollars to get my 500 dollar deposit back. I will do it because they made it so hard for me to move out that I consider the cost justified. DO NOT rent here, it will only be a few months till they are sold or the management company changes as the place is 1/2 empty due to mismanagement. <P>
