Apartment Reviews for Camino Pueblo Apartments
Terrible Experience

This is in regards to the Camino section of the three combined lots. We have lived here for nearly 1.5 years, regrettably renewing a partial year lease after our first year due to financial reasons despite wanting to make this place a distant memory. We will not be making the mistake again.
I have read and agree on almost every negative point made in reviews on other websites from up to 2 years ago which affirms nothing has improved over the years. I truly wish I had seen these site before considering this complex. Important points to note are the parking issues, the revolving management, and absurdly thin walls/ceilings/floors. Each other review is accurate in their complaints so please research and review them.
What is not mentioned are the very frequent in-home inspections they perform. Our apartment has been entered half a dozen times or more in the year and a half for a bevy of reasons including two smoke detector inspections, a co2 inspection, a heater inspection, re-painting front doors (2 visits). The last requiring all apartment doors to be left ajar until the evening for those who did not stay home that weekday. Today apartments were served notification that there will be yet another full inspection of each apartment AND garage and storage units requiring all personal locks to be removed to accommodate this third party authority. With the theft and vandalism common to this complex this does not settle well.
We are a two car, 1 bedroom resident. This has it's own parking torture to deal with but to add to it, we have had a car break in and rummaged through, soda poured all over a vehicle and tires slashed. This is beyond the half dozen parking tickets from unclear street signs or parking in desperation because you dared to leave after 6:00pm. I, among others have requested cameras and better lot lighting to no avail.
The maintenance workers are pleasant and attentive workers. I have only called on them twice in the first couple months of being here and not since so I do not have many experiences to judge.
The manager that was employed on our move in effectively sold us on living here. She was a very professional and kind woman who also seemed like she could be very tough on problem tenants. She left two months into our stay and the new manager I hardly speak with. She seems very unprofessional and fake in her interactions. It was nice not hearing her small yappy dogs for a few weeks as she was away getting her office/apartment completely remodeled. Replaced of course with the sounds of early morning construction as our walls practically touch.
Combined with other untrained, obnoxious dogs, groups of screaming and unbelievably frequent wailing/crying children and upstairs neighbors who I am forced to assume wear lead shoes and weight train in their living room make even relaxing at home a chore in patience.
Ants and drain flies are prevalent and measures must be taken on a daily basis to keep them away. Fortunately we haven't had the roach or rat problem others experience though we are not near the garbage.
The laundry facility is small, often requiring multiple visits to find an opening. This is compounded by the frequently broken machines and water pipes. Which have also lead to many days of water being shut off to units for maintenance.
Our floors are so thin that we can feel the hot pipes in areas of our bedroom and bathroom. Some may find heated floors a feature, but when combined with the horrid air circulation and sub-par wall unit air conditioner, it makes for rough summers.
A last note on security are the huge this plate windows taking over half the wall at the apartment entrance that lock poorly if at all and shake as everyone finds the need to slam their doors. The doors themselves are so light they are surely meant for interior doors, not front doors. They also do not include a peep-hole. The frame and door swell badly in fluctuating weather leading to many having to wedge and slam doors...or at least I give that excuse to find a reason EVERY neighbor does it.
Rent increased from $950 in 2011 to $1075 in 2012 for our 1 bedroom, yet with no improvements to the grounds or security I hardly see any reasoning for the drastic increase. They state "market price" is $1250 and they are giving everyone a break.
I hope prospective residents due their research better then I did and not take this place at face value. I will try to spread this to more sites as I find them in hopes to save anyone else from this absurd living environment.
