Review for The Terrace Apartments

It's a good place to live in Riverside, and very convenient to 91 and the Galleria Mall. There's an amusement park right next door as well, Castle Park. The units are quiet though you can occasionally get a neighbor that likes the music loud. Parking is good if you have one car, but more than that is roulette as to whether you'll get a space (at night you probably won't). You are right next to the freeway so the air is not healthy and I would steer clear if you have kids for that reason. It does feel safe and never had a security problem. The units are clean and the people who work there are usually nice and helpful, especially the maintenance and grounds guys who are fantastic. The one main caveat is that management will use every ruse imaginable to steal your security deposit and then some. They must get a commission from the corporation for ripping renters off. Therefore what you must do is videotape and take photographs of everything in the unit when you move in with the manager next to you so you full proof the system when you move out and can show how the unit looked when you moved in compared to moving out. Remember that California law stipulates that reasonable wear and tear on the apartment is expected by the tenant. The security deposit insures against broken windows and other purposeful damage to the apartment, not so management can charge you for new popcorn ceilings when you obviously never touched the ceiling (I kid you not). So be wary of the security deposit ruse and protect yourself as you move in, or you'll lose your security deposit and they will send you a bill for $1000+ for imaginary damage. Other than that and being right next to the freeway (and some balky washing machines that will steal your money too), the place was good to live in. Yes, it was nice, but why does management have to be so greedy?
