ok but nothing special ( over a year ago )

I am a freshmen and living here was my first experience away from home and living on my own. The lofts have good and bad things about them but I will not be living here again. There is NO privacy, the furniture is cheap, I've had mulitple problems with the cable and internet, and I was not very pleased with the roommate match-up. However the staff is very friendly and the price was decent. I lived with three other girls and paid $600 for a 9 month lease. They have activities monthly that are fun. If you're thinking about the dorms, I would reccomend the lofts instead because it's still a dorm experience but you only share a bathroom with 3 other girls instead of 15 other girls. I love to cook and loved that the kitchen was spacious but my roommates aren't too crazy about cooking and they still get by pretty well. If you're looking for more of an apartment style I would reccomend another place as you sign away your privacy with the lease. Hope this review helps! :)

The staff is constantly is constantly snooping in other people's business, the girls on staff are like high school drama queens, the management did not even pair people up according to preference and they are extremely unprofessional.

The lofts are such a nice place to live its only about 10 minutes away from school which really helped me because i didnt have to pay for a sacramento parking permit. If you like to swim its also a great place because it has a huge pool. Everyone is also very friendly. The staff members are extremely helpful too like Brandon and Danny. So if your looking for a place to live next year i would definately recommend the upper eastside lofts.

After reading the other negative reviews these lofts have received, i can honestly say none of what was mentioned i witnessed while i was at the lofts. They have everything you need included in the room AND the staff and management are easy going people.
I would suggest taking a look to see if it's your style because they are LOFTS, which is a different style than an apartment. But it fit my personality well.

My freshmen year at Sac State I commuted because I refused to live in the resident halls on campus. Half way through my freshmen year I heard about the Upper Eastside lofts, once I toured the property I knew I didn’t want to live anywhere else.
First off, the property is really safe and secure here, it’s gated, there is always a CA on property if I need anything, and campus police are always patrolling the property.
Second, I don’t know of any other college property that gives you a washer/dryer inside your loft, unlimited heating and air, a 42” flat screen TV, a balcony, and not to mention it fully furnished. The amenities there are wonderful and sure do make my life more enjoyable.
Third, the office staff and CA‘s are very helpful and friendly. A CA is always in the office every day until 12 AM to answer or help me with any problems which is really helpful for me because I have a crazy schedule and never know when ill get some free time.
My parents were really worried that by living off campus I wasn’t going to get the “true college experience,” but ever since I moved to the Upper Eastside Lofts I have made many friends and have been more active and involved than I ever have been in my whole life. People are always by the pool hanging out or there is always a program going on. On my free time i can always find someone to hangout with.
This is a great place to live and I hope I will be spending the rest of my residency throughout college at the Upper Eastside Lofts.

The Upper Eastside Lofts, I think is the best place to live if you are a student in the Sacramento area. I use to commute my first two year at CSUS, but when I decided to move I knew I wanted to move to the Upper Eastside Lofts. My friend lived here before me and she loved it. I really liked coming and visiting because it was a great property and the apartments are very modern and stylish. Not only that, but the apartments have a washer and dryer inside each loft, a flat screen T.V. and it comes furnished! I just couldn’t believe that they would get all that as a student.
Now as a resident for a year I have decided to renew because I love it here. The staff is great, (yeah there was some problem in the beginning of last year with the old management and staff but) this year the management is SUPER friendly, and nice. They are always checking up on us and seeing if we are doing okay and are always asking us for our opinion on improving the property. They always greet you as you walk by the office, even if you don’t come in.
The RLC and the CAs are great too. They are friendly, always there for us, and throw the coolest and strangest programs for the residents. Some of my favorite ones were the Midnight Breakfast, Ice Cream Social night, Blue Tape Art, BBQ night, Guitar Hero Challenge, and Sex Education Night. Even though a lot of the residents didn’t come to the programs (which I don’t know why, there were posters everywhere for them and they even knock on your door to invite you to come), it was still a lot of fun. I am very excited for next year because I believe the property will have more residents, which means more people at the programs, which means… more fun!
I would recommend the lofts to anyone that is a student because you get the full college experience with style and you meet so many great people here. My parents are very happy that I live here because they also agree that the place is very nice and clean, but the think that they like about it the most is the fact that it is very safe and that the area is convenient for me because there are restaurant around the area that I can just walk to if I don’t want to cook.

Wow, I can't believe how much negativity I've seen on here. Well that's basically what you get when you go to review sights like this, getting people with strong opinions.
Anyway, I had a pretty good time living here. I love how conveniently close they are to Sac State. I walk or bike everyday. Theres Jamba Juice and Starbucks right across the parking lot which is pretty cool too!
The staff is overall very friendly! Usually I go into the office and they're helpful with what I need, but there was only 1-2 student workers there who were less nice. I like how the student workers put on events for us to socialize, have fun, and especially FREE!! You know how us broke college students are lol.
As for parking, I wish they would fix that situation. Before I would hear tow trucks every other night picking away cars that didnt have permits. I can't remember the last time I saw one, it was probably a few months ago. I heard they were revamping the parking situation.
The lease is just like any other lease. Its very specific, which can be tedious sometimes. The managers helped clarify any questions I had with it.
As for security, I've seen the campus police do drive bys and checks at night time alot because I usually come home from work in the evenings. I didn't really feel safe with that one security guy we had last year, but I know the student workers do walks through the property every hour and stuff.
Overall, I think its a great first place to live for ppl new to sac, and if they arent too pleased with it , they'll at least get some knowledge of the surronding apartment communities.

I transferred in from out of the city and didn't want to live in the dorms. This place is convenient, thats it. Its more expensive then it should be and parking is (as everyone agrees) ridiculous. I haven't had problems with room mates but i have heard of those who have (a lot). They don't match people here properly and don't like you to move when you are matched with some one you just don't get a long with. The spaces are bigger than the dorms and you get a kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher and tv. All utilities are covered with your monthly rent and CSUS is only two blocks away. The pool is ok (not for swimming) and the hot tub is fairly well maintained. This place is only good for a year or two.

I transferred to Sac State as a junior not knowing anyone. I had no idea where I was going to live. I knew I was going to hate the dorms but, the dorms were my only option until I found out about the Upper Eastside Lofts. I moved into the Upper Eastside Lofts in the Fall of 2007 and have been living here ever since. I love it! My roommates were awesome and I have made a lot of friends I know I will have even after college. There is a pool and a hot tub which I use a lot! There is always something going on at the lofts. They have different programs every month like Midnight Breakfast, Massage Program, Ice Cream Sandwichs, etc. It is only a 10 minute walk to Sac State. Plus, there is a Starbucks right on the corner! This is a great place to live!

I moved in as a freshman and it's like getting the dorm life - without the small rooms and bathrooms at the end of the hallways! It's quiet, and they have cool events all the time! (like ice skating and root beer pong) I met all kinds of people, who lived in the same building! The staff is awesome! They have RAs who do the programs and help with roommate issues, and always nice to me when I came into the office. It is conventiantly located next to Subway and Jamba Juice and Starbucks, and TWO BLOCKS FROM CAMPUS!!!
The staff may be harsh with the noise and parties, but they honestly care about the people who live here and are looking to make sure everyone is safe. They don't bust parties, just tell you to be quieter.
Great place to live. Perfect for any kind of student. I planto stay here until I leave the school! LOVE IT HERE!!!

As a first year freshman, I was looking for somewhere that was safe and professional. I got neither. I signed up with the understanding that they "Room-mate Match" using a survey, since you live in a completely OPEN loft- No bedroom, No privacy. I had 2 other room mates. They did NOT even LOOK at my questionaire and instead matched me where it was most convenient. One of my room mates turned out to put me in dangerous situations (Such as bringing in theifs, drug dealers, etc) and also saying words such as "The N-Word" and being extremely racist towards my and my other room mate race. Trying to adjust to the "college" life without parents is difficult for any student, especially when you are recieving no back up or SAFETY from the leasing office. They REFUSED to move me or my other room mate (Who also wanted to get OUT of there), even after two meetings and countless phone calls from my motherand my room mates sister, who were sincerely worried about our safety (As were we). I could not believe that I was put in a situation like this and that the leasing office did not care one bit. My mother had to call THEIR manager before I was moved, after months and months of me pleading to get out of that room. I would NEVER reccomend this place to ANY one who is serving your first year, unless you are signing up with a friend. They do not fulfill their inital offers of a room mate "match making" service.
From a more objective point of view, I would not recommend this place to any one other than foreign exchange students or extremely quiet students. This is not a place for partying, don't know whether that is a good or a bad thing but I do know they are EXTREMELY strict about noise complaints and any sort of large social gathering. This is one subject they are very, very safe about. Parents can rest easy knowing that their students will not be partying..in their own apartment complex at least.
Of course, the CA's (Who are students also) are above all of these rules. I knew one CA who was dating a student, another who often drank with the under age students at parties. There is a STRICT no pet rule, but another CA has a pet cat (Although she does have a medical note stating she needs an animal for companionship...does this mean I can get one too?). Simply put, this place is brand new and I think they have a lot of kinks to work out with organization and also the supervisor's lack of managing the student office staff. I will NOT renew my lease here or recommend it to any one.
