Review Title:   Do Not Rent Here
Reviewer:   Anonymous

What a rip off. We have been here over a year, and totally unhappy. I am so angry over the lack of parking, horrible management staff, complex policies and overcharging-hell that this place is.

Just figure this - you WILL owe when you leave here. Here is the inside scoop: You may get a month free rent or "No deposit" for moving in. DONT DRINK THE COOL AID. After a year of being here, they upped the rent to almost double if we were to go month-to-month. We had to sign another year lease just to stay at close to what we were paying at almost $1900 per month (that includes monthly pet rent for our cats). And breaking the lease?! You might as well save up for that.

We know someone who just moved out - lucky for them! They were charged for every little thing - including carpet replacement for a new carpet. You will be nailed for everything - TRUST ME.

We have had hassle after hassle with the management - who is NOT helpful. They are mighty friendly when they rent the place to you, but then they become very unhelpful to residents - especially if you have an issue.

Parking is horrible - you will get towed. Your guests will get towed. They have a total of 8 guest spots - for close to 400 apartment units. You have to check out a permit for $50 deposit when you need one (only for 24 hours).

Background screening on residents - they say they can't "discriminate" but can you at least check for criminals? I have been woken up by domestic abuse yelling going on outside or fireworks or the cops arresting someone in the parking lot. You would think we lived in a trailer park.

By the way, this is the same company (Archstone) who was just sued for over 20 million bucks for not building for access for people with disabilities. Portofino is a 3 story facility without elevators and no trash chutes. Dont bother even trying to rent here if you have to get around in a wheelchair.

The builders definitely did the minimum effort in complying with the building codes, but only the bare minimum. Parking was an afterthought. Elevators? NOT. The management also does the bare minimum basically only what is required for compliance and thats it. When your car gets towed, or you owe money for leaving your garage open, or some other regulation, the reply will be the same: You shouldve read the notice, you should have seen the sign. Read this notice. You WILL have problems here.
