Positive Apartment Reviews and Ratings
Not bad for close proximity to UCSD ( over a year ago )

Lived in a 2BR, 2-story apartment last year, not a bad experience. With rent prices as they are in La Jolla, this place is a decent deal. It's not the prettiest complex, and you are right along the traffic of Genesee Ave, but you're also a hop away from the Regents bus, so travel to campus is easy and free.

PROS: Good amount of space in the apartment, CLOSE to the university and bus, close proximity to freeways and major La Jolla roads, dishwasher, helpful landlord, problems and fixes are addressed quickly by staff, pool area, nice carpeting.

CONS: Parking spots are SMALL and finding a second spot can be difficult (you only get 1 spot, even with a 2BR), Genesee Ave traffic noise if you're in an apartment close to the street, no AC (rooms get HOT in the summer), interior is fairly basic, boring... bring furniture to spruce it up.

OVERALL: I give it a 7 out of 10. Not the best apartment complex in the world, but a good staff, decent rent price, and closeness to UCSD makes it a good choice for a college student.

The bushes are ugly and the gardener blew dirt into my car. Parking is a joke and there's no lighting in the parking lot so if you're trying to walk to the dumpster at night, you're just hoping the coyotes/raccoons don't run out of the canyon and attack you.

People here are kinda creepy always looking at you funny, nobody ever says hi. Buncha multi-generation families speaking little to no English. Also for some reason the jets from the Miramar Air Force base fly overhead every day with their afterburners on and they're super loud. Also it gets really hot from June-Sept and guess what you get? A poorly ventilated apartment with no a/c!

Maintenance is pretty prompt with response to requests -- trust me I know, stuff breaks around here all the time.. we got a leak in our ceiling the very first month and we've had to call them for something every couple of months since. However, one time I did not give permission to enter and THEY CAME IN ANYWAY! Not legal!! The only reason I still live here is because it's so close to UCSD. And they recently installed new washers and dryers.. thank god. But for the most part, I'd say look around and be flexible about the area you want to live because the rent is good for the expensive La Jolla area but go a couple miles south or east and you can do a lot better for the price.

This is a nice property overall. Nice apartments, attentive maintenace crew and mostly quiet. However, the rental management does need to get its act together and be more pro-active about the parking situation and tenant meetings. Right now anyone can park in unmarked spots or restricted parking areas and will not be towed by anyone. Absolutely rediculous. So come on down everyone and park here. Also, get all the college students out of here, send them to party land and everyone else will be happy.
