Apartment Reviews for Aurora Yerba Buena
Don't rent here!

GO ELSEWHERE!

We originally moved in back in 2001. It was great back then. The main reason we moved in was the on-site security guard, plus the fact that Whole Foods was going to move in. And that staff at that time was great.

We moved out in the fall of 2005 - and so glad we did!

The managent changed several times. The security guard was let go right before Whole Foods moved in. The service got worse, and worse, and worse. Yet our rent went UP each year!

Whole Foods has only made the area worse instead of better. The staff doesn't clean up the sidewalk in front of the store. They allow homeless people to hang out and acost people just outside their door.

I complained to the Whole Foods people many times about the homeless element and was greeted only by apathetic employees who obviously didn't care.

Even when our dog and I were attacked by a homeless person's dog in broad daylight right in front of the store, I received apathy and disinterest from the store. Although they DID call the police.

More on Whole Foods: After they moved in, the issue of the fire alarms going off at 2 or 3am started. We were told it was because of some water heater something-or-other in Whole Foods that was causing the problem. Has Whole Foods ever done anything to make it up to the tenants? No! Nothing! The only thing they've done is make parking for the tenants a nightmare.

I know this sounds like a Whole Foods Bashing, but they've only made the area worse instead of better.

Add to that the fact that the services for the building kept doing down while rents kept going up, and you have a mess of an apartment building.

The area around the building kept getting worse instead of better. We were afraid to walk our dog outside at night on the weekends due to all the partyers parking behind the building and causing trouble. Leaving vomit and broken glass for us to dodge the mornings after.

Security was an issue ever since they got rid of that service. It's too easy for people to get in. We were told to keep an eye out and not let non-residents into the elevator. That was lame. We didn't know half the residents, so how were we expected to help police who got on the elevator?

Theft and car break-ins became the norm. We were told that the Whole Foods security guards were supposed to patrol the area at night. But the only time we ever saw them was either IN the store or giving money to the homeless.

Too bad. It WAS a good place, but now it's overpriced and shabby. Not worth the money at all. Try Craig's List to find an affordable, safe, clean apartment in San Francisco. Bypass this place entirely!!
