Apartment Reviews for Lakewood Apartments At Lake Merced
Bad Place

The men's sauna is just for the brochure. It generally is not kept working. They don't obey San Francisco's Housing Code requirements to keep the outside doors secure so thieves have a field day in the garage while telling the tenants "it's not a security building." They have been under an order of the San Francisco Fire Marshall to fix the fire alarm system since April 2005 and have not complied with the order. They enter occupied apartments without permission, even over the objections of the tenants, for "annual" inspections looking for excuses to evict. Most (but not all) of the office staff is snooty, the managers lie like dogs. It is on top of the San Andreas fault yet they abandoned plans for a seismic retrofit, probably their "final solution" to get rid of the long-term tenants. The ONLY reason to live in a dump like this is if you have been been here long enough to have cheap rent thanks to rent control. As if all that is not enough, it's fog here most of the Summer. Good points: the free tennis lessons Sat. mornings, rural setting, good noise isolation due to masonry construction. <P>
