I spent a year living in a property by Pacific Regional Group, and it was the worst living experience I have ever had. Somehow the management of these properties has managed to fail in every possible way.
Please see other reviews on this site, but it seems to be common knowledge that the landlord is petty and finds creative ways to withold security deposits. First of all, unlike most landlords, the managment of Pacific Regional will not pay to have any of their apartments professionally cleaned prior to their being vacated. Thus, the rentor is expected to clean everything himself. However, the trash facilities are not very optimal at these apartments. So, the landlord has found a way to take money by either charging for not fully cleaning the apartment or clogging the 1950s era trash-chute.
Throughout my year at this apartment, I have had several confrontations with the management. One apartment within the complex was broken into; the landlord failed to make any changes to prevent further break-ins. A second incident occurred when we had paid extra to have a washer/dryer in the complex. The dryer broke repeatedly and the landlord failed to repair the appliance. We had to threaten to break our lease before he replaced the dryer. However, this did not prevent him from increasing the price from 1.50 to 2.00 per cycle. Unfortunately, he bought a cheap dryer that required 2 cycles to dry 1 load. Maintenance was pretty much non-responsive for any complaints. Multiple emails and phone calls needed to be made for any repairs. Frequently, the landlord tried to blame to tenants for problems with plumbing, etc. I would recommend that nobody rent from these glorified slum lords.
