First of all, it attracts everybody by offering relatively low rents. After all that's what is one of the concerns while searching for an apartment,but donot forget that there should be something terrible reason why the rent is so low. here are few of reasons that I did not realise till I started living there. 1. If you have any maintanance problem(which is very obvious as this is a very very old apartment),guy will not come unless and until you hunt him for repairing that. There is only one maintenance guy for the entire complex. that's how they cut down maintenance cost in the rent. 2. Parking place: apparently it is very conjusted. Obviosuly they became cost effective even while providing parking space by giving a very small parking areas. even if you are a damn good driver, you should be EXTREMELY cautious to either park the car there or to get your own car out of it. Most interestingly when you are late to park your car ,somebody else will happily use your parking place. There are numbers whom you can call to complain about this(towing away). If you call them, they ask you to complain to your manager and when manager takes extreme pain in calling the towing department, they will take action. It is very obvious that manager will not be available after 5 PM in office and you will get a penality if you call her "after hours". Well,you will have to do a parellel parking till then. 3. Hospital is just beside these apartments. Be prepared to listen to all kinds of sirens at midnight. Even when it rains, you will be able to hear sound of water drops falling all over the night. Interestingly they start the rinklers at around 2 AM in the morning and they are just beside the bed rooms. 4. Huge trucks travel during night which make hell lot of noises during night.As a working people, one should need to take proper sleep which will not happen here. 5. Most important thing which no one can imagine: There are small bugs in these apartments irrespective of however clean you try to maintain them. and belive me, you see those in kitchen cabinets, grocceries that you buy, in furniture, every where. 6. Door way stinks due to those carpets and you feel like running when you are walking through that. Donot even think of walking through that door at lunch or dinner times. 7. There are no patios. water drains very slowly in the bath room and sink.if you by any chance take a shampoo and forget to clean the fallen hair, your bath tub will never drain the water. you will have to write a maintenance request and refer to point 1. 8. One good point is that there is a library beside these apartments which has nothing to do with apartments though. it just happend that library is beside this. when you compare the torture vs library, you can opt to drive to library(or take public transportation) even daily instead of taking this as plus point in selecting these apartments. 9. Management: Most of them live in the same apartment complex, yet never present in the leasing office. Even when I went to sign the lease with them, I had to call twice and go. I didnot think much about then. after moving in I realised why I had to make sure by call that they are there in the leasing office. The only answer you get from them constantly for any thing is "We have no idea". 10.ventilation: You have to open windows and be a good host to all the flies and bees if you by any chance want some fresh air to enter your apartment. it feels as though you are suffocating when you enter these apartments right from the first day due to lack of good flow of air. 11.There is a gym inside leasing office which is supposed to be open from 6AM to 6PM (atleast as stated in papers),but will be open only from 10 AM to 5 PM. so if you go to work and come back by 5 or 6,forget about using gym.There is no way you can use this because you will not be given access keys to gym. 12.Security: There is a door which has locks and protection but there is another small door whose lock doesnot even work. anyone has a free access to enter through that door any time. I would sincerely advice people not to commit the same mistake that I did by chosing this apartment. Even if you do by any chance, please write a lease for minimum possible duration and see whether you can actually live out there! I saw these ratings earlier and thought they are not genuine. I hope somebody else will not do the same mistake. Sorry for a long write up.
