Apartment Reviews for Heritage Park Apartments - Sunnyvale

I lived here for 2 years before i moved out. Some pros & cons of this place
Pros: 1) Lots of storage space
2) Large complex spread over 23 acres. Good for strolling with baby.
3) Close to Caltrain station & downtown
4) Maintenance ppl friendly & responded on time whenever I had a problem
Cons: 1) Old apartment complex. Looks very shabby from outside. Needs painting. Renovation work begun in Jan 2008 not yet completed in June 2009.
2) A small gym for 500 apts. Always occupied.
3) Washers & dryers in need of repair. Lost quite a bit of time & money trying to find out which ones worked.
4) Abnormally high utility bills.
5) Not the best school. Quite a few ppl moved out because of school.
6) Walls too thin. Could hear neighbors talking & moving around.
7) Move out charges atrocious & proportional to the amount of deposit. Know of more than a few cases where it has been over $1000.
8) No social activities. Very lonely & boring if you're stay-at-home.
9) Kids' play area nothing to write home about. Kids hardly ever play here.

Bottomline: Not the worst in Sunnyvale, but there are much better apt around Heritage Park with better quality of life. Rent might seem attractive at first, but high utility & move out charges make this a very expensive substandard apartment.
