It'S Not That Bad! I Like It Here...

So, I’ve been living at this complex for about 2 years now and I just want to clarify – things are not nearly as bad as the other guy said. He must have been mad at something. Anyways – here are my two cents, and you can judge for yourself!

1. The walls are thin, but I have never heard my neighbors conversations – just washer and dryer when they are run late at night or when people stomp up and down the stairs. I can’t complain though because my neighbors and their kids are pretty quiet.

2. He complains that the gates are unlocked – well, they were upfront about that when I moved in. They told me that the parking was secured (which it is), but that people can walk in without going through locked gates. They should have listened to them (or looked at the gates) when they moved in.

3. I don’t know much about the deposit except that I’ve never been to a place that didn’t charge for labor and materials for painting – and 90 bucks for each is reasonable if you’ve ever done construction – and even more reasonable if it’s a 2 bedroom. The manager gives an outline of what they will charge you when you move out, and you sign it when you move in. Read your paperwork Mr. Complainer!

Other things you should know:

1. The current manager is great. She goes out of her way to make sure that any maintenance issues or problems are handled quickly, and the maintenance guys are pretty knowledgeable and can fix things pretty well. She’ll make sure that any emergency is handled ASAP.

2. The 2nd guy was right – there are quite a few 1st generation folks that destroy the laundry machines, but they just bought more and these ones are great front load ones. Keep in mind though – if you’re in a 2 bedroom, you get your own and no one is going to destroy that except you!

3. The place looks old on the outside (it was built in the 70s I think), but the inside is really updated as far as appliances go - I have granite counters throughout, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and a nice stove/oven. Also - lots of storage! I absolutely LOVE the big closets!

Anyways – I’m happy here. The people (management and other residents) are friendly, and for the area, the price is quite reasonable… this was the best deal that I could find for what the place officers (dishwasher, washer and dryer, lots of space)... The neighborhood is safe and I feel comfortable jogging or walking around at night alone... I plan on being here for a while longer!
