This place is in the ghetto. We took the apartment because the price was right and as my husband and I began a new family, we needed to keep finances low. Let me start by saying that the office staff at this apartment complex is completely inept. When we first moved in, Laura (the office manager) did not provide a copy of our walk through papers. Nor did she have the items we marked down fixed by maintenance. In fact I never once saw a maintenance person working at this complex. One month after moving in Laura left a note on our door telling us to move out. She told us we were late on our rent because our deposit was not fully paid. We wrote a letter with documentation showing that our final deposit payment wasn t due until the following month. She did not call to apologize or explain her mix up. I called her. This harassment lasted the entire 7 months we lived here. Constant letters are taped to the front door stating things like "Dont leave brooms or bikes on the balcony"... We never did, the balconies are shared though and our neighbors sure did. Other problems at this place...no dishwasher, old building, bug problems, constant police calls to surrounding areas, noisy and disrespectful outside situations, and parking is a nightmare! We were promised 2 spots when we moved in. It turns out we get one covered spot and have to try to find a second spot if we can. There is NOT enough parking and parking on the street is pathetic since the street is lined with similar apartment complexes. We lived in a unit just inside the gates and twice a week or more there were police sirens going off outside. Not only that but there s an obnoxious ice cream truck that rolls around twice a day with one song playing over and over. If you can get over that, you might not be able to handle the guys with the food carts that walk around and in the complex with a bicycle horn... honking for attention. It s a real crap hole here. My husband and I couldn t take it anymore and moved after less than a year. We requested a walk through when we moved and even put it in writing on our 30 day notice. Sure enough, 21 days after our move, we get a partial deposit made out with the wrong name for my husband. No walk through was arranged and now I have to fight them for the $240 they claim was needed to clean the place. Luckily I took pictures and have witnesses. It s taken time and energy for me to write professional letter after letter to this complex. Meanwhile Laura is claiming that its a standard fee and will only respond when I send my letters by certified mail. So please don t move here. There are plenty of complexes right in the vicinity that are much better!
