Not A Luxury Apartment, But Still A Nice Place To

Before moving to Heather Ridge I lived in a park like apartment complex that asbolutely sucked. After a fire in that apartment I was forced to move out quickly and Heather Ridge had a few available apartments that could be available in five days time. I wasn't overly impressed with the buildings themselves. You can tell that they aren't brand new apartment buildings, but I had to do what I had to do.

I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but boy was I surprised! The apartment that I chose definitely had to be cleaned up before move in and boy did they clean. Fresh paint and cleaned carpet, newer appliances and they put in new flooring in all of the kitchens and bathrooms! My last apartment was a joke compared to this. Those carpets had stains everywhere and the blinds were caked with dust! And the rent was a hundred dollars more!

Now, like I said the building is definitely older. The one other review seemed to be talking about the hallways and the stairs and how gross they are. I'll say that they are not immaculate, but they do clean them quite often. I'd say every other day you can smell the cleaner that they use. One of the problems that you will face in any building that has enclosed hallways and carpets is that damp smell. Shoes are going to be wet and things will be spilled, but it is not a constant thing. I noticed that when I first moved in. In two days time the smell was gone. You also have to remember that other people live in these buildings and they aren't always the cleanest people, but maintenance does clean up. Every night I believe, someone comes around and picks up the trash. It's later at night, so if you come in earlier than that, maybe you don't notice, or maybe I just live in a better building than the other reviewer. I don't know, but it is NOT nearly as bad as they say! Like I said, it's not a luxury apartment, but what it does give is amazing!

The office staff is great! They know your name when you come into the office and which apartment you live in! They are always willing to help and give you a call any time you have a package in the office even though all delivery services leave you a slip to tell you that.

Maintenance is quick. I've had three slight problems, one of which they knew about already and came in the very next day after puting in the service request. They aren't always able to fix the problem right then and there because of parts but they come back as soon as possible and fix what they say they will fix! And like everyone else they are wonderfully nice!

Crime really isn't an issue unless you park your car on the street as some people will do because they don't want to walk too far. It's not that there is a parking shortage, but where the doors are located in relation to your apartment seems to make people park only in certain places even though there is plenty of parking all over the place. And even then, there have only been two known problems with cars on the street. One of which was obviously teens playing a prank as nothing was stolen, just a window broken. Doesn't make it better, but I think we all understand kids better than criminals.

There are a lot of kids around and I've heard other buildings have problems with loud kids, but my building is mostly quiet. You hear normal living noises, but I have not had one problem with loud music late at night ot anything of that nature. And the people who live here are amazignly friendly. It definitely feels like a home, not just a place to live for a while.

I recommend this place to anyone looking for fair rent, clean apartments, nice neighbors and anyone not looking to live in the lap of luxury. You have everything you need here, just not all of the great extras that I think we all have become accustomed to.

Come on over and enjoy! It really is a nice place to live!
