I'm leaving at the end of my lease next month for a NUMBER of reasons. When I moved in, the Retreat had only just begun and there weren't many tenants - the place was gorgeous and I loved it! Since then, more and more thug and gangsta wannabes have occupied the place, the parking is ridiculous, the trash compactor is not emptied often enough, fire alarms (which sound off LOUDER THAN HELL in your bedroom) going off at random times (even the middle of the night), I'm scared to walk in or out of my place after dark and the neighbors are trashy as all get out... And most importantly, my boyfriend was held up at gun point by two thug TEENAGERS in February!!! The "secured" parking garage is supposedly covered with surveillance cameras... NO, just ONE at the front entrance (which everyone and their brother know the same damn code to) and the cops discovered that the "locked" door entrances are not actually locked (rather, the ghetto Retreat doors open if you pull hard enough). The office has left nasty notes on my door for everyone to see, demanding vacancy or rent when I've always paid my rent with time to spare but because their office is so retarded, they blamed me for their ridiculous record keeping. If you value your money... AND YOUR LIFE, you won't live here.
