Review for Bristol Village Apartments

I moved into this apartment a year ago as it's very close to where I work. It has its pros, but it also has its cons.

First off, if you decide to live here, ask BEFORE you sign your lease if you can get Qwest and/or Comcast setup in your apartment. The main reason I'm not renewing is that the staff won't tell you, but your only choice for cable, internet, and phone in this place is some fly-by-night company called American Communications. How fly-by-night you might ask? Check their excuse for a website ( http://www.americancom.net ). You'll be stuck with DSL that's between 200-300k on a good day, and cable TV that's nothing but a DirecTV satellite fed into you (that goes out in bad weather like all satellites do). Don't believe it if they say that you'll have other options soon. They've been saying that they're trying to break the exclusive contract for most of my lease and it's still never happened. Don't move in if American Communications is your only choice upon signing.

Noise is pretty bad. You can hear the toilets flush above you, along with the 6 year old kid running and stomping around that never seems to have a bedtime. You can hear music from the next door apartment as well.

I had an issue with a water-heater leak in my apartment which caused overflow and mold to grow on the floor of my closet. Maintenance was quick to gut my closet and replace the lower wall, but I had to call two weeks later to get the carpet put back down, then found out afterwards that they never did fix the leak the first time.

They have a pool, but you're likely to find a group of unsupervised kids running around and screaming. There's a fitness center too, but I'm not sure if the equipment is ever cleaned.

Positives? Hmm... my apartment was newly remodeled before I moved in. Apparently they're doing that with a lot of the units.

Oh well... just a few more days and I'll be out of this place and have a REAL internet connection.
