Review Title:   Thin Walls (Ie Cold, And Loud), Nasty, Mean Manage
Reviewer:   Anonymous
Review Date:   12/18/2006

Do not be fooled by the cozy little "show" apartment. The only truly nice thing about these apartments are the floorplans. We live in a corner unit on the second floor. We can hear the people upstairs walk, pee and have sex. We can hear the people next to and below us talk, watch TV and turn off their alarms in the morning.

We have lived here through more than 2 winters and can tell you that there is absolutely no insulation in the walls. We have winterized our apartment and can still feel cold drafts coming in from the windows and doors. The second our furnace turns off the temperature plummets.

All the appliances are old. The finishings are cheap and poorly constructed. The water tastes really awful. The grout in the showers is falling out and the maintenance crew hasn't seen fit to fix it despite it having been called to their attention several times. The hot tub was broken and went unrepaired for an entire year.

We are charged for "having a view", which can only be seen from the deck in winter when all the leaves are gone. We are charged, in addition to rent, to park in our own parking lot.

Management may seem nice but is not the least bit accommodating. The Property Manager of Canterwood was sharky, mean and extremely rude on more than one occasion. She may schmooze you before you sign the contract, but she only sees the rent you can provide, and she doesn't even care about that very much. There are many empty units here as I type and they still have raised our rent by 53% to resign the lease. No, that is not a typo.

Run. Run far, far away from this place. Rent an apartment that is worth the money and where you will be treated fairly and decently.
