My father had an apartment here, he unfortunately died in his apartment, owing 2 months of back rent. The management staff wouldnt let me into his apartment even WITH THE POLICE with me to get his things. Even though I was listed as the emergency contact.
The guy, Jeff, or Scott or something was a complete a** to me, questioning if I was even his daughter, what right did I have to get his things? I HAD THE POLICE WITH ME. They believed that I was who I said I was! Wasn't good enough for them.
He actually started raising his voice telling me that I needed to calm down about the situation, when all I wanted was to at least inventory what was in his home to make sure that nothing walked off! I am still convinced that the management or maintenence took 2-3 of very high priced guns from his unit.
I finally had to get a lawyer and threaten them with legal action so that I could retrieve his things.
They then told me that I had 2 days to get everything out, or they were going to charge me another FULL months rent, even though by that point it was 14 days into the month.
The female that was running the show actually threw the keys to his unit at me.
If they can't even have enough decency to be respectful to a daughter that has just lost her father, how do you think they are going to treat you when you complain about something being broken?
