Review for Constitution Square Apartments

Our experience here has been horrible. The apartments have a wonderful layout and some have a great view, but that is the extend of the wonderfulness.

We moved back from out of state so until the day that we moved in, we were only dealing with people on the phone, which they were very friendly and helpful. Evwn when we came in, they were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, once we signed on the dotted line, the helpfulness ended.

Our first problem came with trying to set up our electricity. I will not ever again live somewhere that is serviced by Mountain View Electric (granted, this is not the problem of the apartment complex, but it was problematic enough to dictate where I will live).

The first issues with the complex itself came with trying to get out dryer fixed. It took about a month and a half to actually get it worked, which required them calling in professional chimney sweeps, who still could not fix it completely and said it was a fire danger the way it was. It has still not been completely remedied, due to claims that it has been ok for 7 years and should be ok now. the first two maintenance requests (each about a week apart) resulted in sarcastic notes, so I decided to no longer allow them to fix things without me being present. The third visit, different maintenance people came, which resulted in the call for the professionals.

Needless to say, after this experience it almost became easier to deal with the problems than to deal with maintenance.

Our current issue has lasted over a month. Our tub does not drain well. Since my wife and I both work. A lot. It is hard to find a time when they work that we are at home. The first request, I gave them 2 mornings about a week in advance that I would be home and available. They did come the first day, but late in the evening as we were going out. Then they called me the day after, when I was out at work. So I put in another request. About a week after the day we had arranged for the second time, I get a call when I am out of town that they are at my door to fix the issue. I am not sure if the problems lies with he office staff or maintenance staff, but I have talked to several different people from each, and nothing has been done yet.

Which brings us to today. 2 weeks ago, after the last miss, we set an appointment for maintenance to come today between 9 and noon. When I called the office at about 10:30, they were unclear if it was possible to get to it today. She did make and appointment for me in 2 weeks (the next chance we have to be here), and said that they should be able to get it in during that time with 2 weeks of planning. Since this has failed 2 other times, I am not holding my breath.

But I am glad I went with the short lease. Only a few months left to go. And will not live at another property owned by this management group.
