Review for Summer Grove Apartments Ilc Apartments

There are a lot of problems with this complex. The windows are single pane and cause puddles of water to form on the window sills. Since the windows are thin, you can hear everything in the parking lot. This morning, I thought my clock radio was going off in the living room. It turned out to be a car downstairs. Car alarms are constantly going off, people scream and fight in the parking lot, we even caught one tenant peeing on the side of the pool house. The "year round" pool has been closed due to vandalism. Even the trees were graffiti'd, yet we are supposed to have security. There is constantly salsa/mariachi type music booming from neighboring apartments. There was a bad cockroach infestation late last year. There are constantly beer bottles in the stairwells, which get kicked down and broken. The hallways are not kept clean. There are cigarette butts and even liquor bottles that will sit for days. One evening, we noticed dog poop on the stairs. It was there for 3 days before it was cleaned. The complex gives out a limited number of building keys, which is appropriate. However, there are a lot of people that live 6 or more to a 1 bedroom. They like to prop the door open with rocks so anyone can get in the building at night. Cars have been hit in the parking lot (no note of course). When people move out, they love to leave trash and furniture on the landings, which takes days to get removed. We came in and found a man sleeping in front of one of the doors a while back. The trash out in the picnic/playground are usually overflowing and attract flies. As far as the office staff, we've never had a problem with them. Everything was as agreed, and when we need service we get it. They tried to resolve the cockroach problem as quickly as possible. I think the blame is more on dirty tenants than them as far as that is concerned. As far as our apartment, it is very large and in great condition, especially for the price. Really, it's the people living here that make this place terrible.
