Apartment Reviews for Summer Grove Apartments Ilc
Lack of Security and Staff Apathy

After moving into the apartments with my fiance, it was not long before we both realized the mess that we had gotten ourselves into. After being told that a courtesy security officer was on site and security cameras were placed around the property, the lies began to unfold. in the year that we have lived there we have seen the city police officers more than the "courtesy security officer". A thorough examination of the place told us that the only places secured with cameras were the front office and supposedly the outdoor pool(I do recall finding a dirty diaper sunk to the bottom of the pool one day while swimming with some friends). Anyways, we were told upon signing the lease that the doors would be locked every night around 10pm. I might have seen them locked at one point in time, but if so it was only that once. Often times drunks litter the parking lot with their beer bottles and their loud mexican music shakes the walls late at night. Their rambunctious parties will deprive you of sleep and when your wife wakes in the morning escort her to her car. Many times my fiance has been approached by one or more drunken men with the wrong intent. Luckily for us we have an overly protective dog. Twice, our bikes have been broken into and the contents destroyed and scattered across the park. When we talked to the front desk to ask for help we got about as much help from them as we did from the non-english speaking residents. Weve talked to the managers on several occassions about security around the campus and all they seemed to do was point the finger elsewhere. We are both military, but if you think your orders will get you out of a lease, think again. Read the military clause twice before signing because instead of supporting their troops, these people will rob you of your hard earned money.
