Maintenance is substandard, but only because there is only one maintenance man, and he's vastly overwhelmed. Landscaping is also substandard, again because the management refuses to pay for it to be done decently. Our place was burglarized in summer 2007, and when I asked for the shrubs outside to be trimmed so would be criminals weren't entirely screened from view, they did a horrible hack-job on one bush, then gave up. Parking's a nightmare, but would be easily remedied if one of the current tenants wasn;t using the lot for his own used car dealerships (he commonly has 5-7 vehicles taking up the lot). Management is a joke, and they're either rude, inept or both. Biggest gripe is snow/ice removal, or the lack thereof. Never any ice melt, lot plowing could be done better by a kid with a stick, and I have to shovel my own walk if I want it done at all. Ice builds up all winter, meaning any outside journey is a recipe for a slip-and fall (something the cheap idiots who own the place should pay attention to: If I slip, I sue, so how about some ice melt. It's cheaper than the rise in your liability insurance rates). Noise can be an issue, buy hey, it's communal living; You're going to hear your neighbors. Big pluses iare the ample wildlife from the adjacent highline canal (who come to dig through the open garbage containers that are never cleaned or picked up) as well as the large floor plans. Storage is average, and wished there was more. I'd rent a garage for $160 a month and use half for storage if used car guy hadn't taken up all of them. All in all, it's better than most places I've been, and could be a great place with better management and some $$ tossed at it for upkeep and remodeling (the beige "apartment color" carpet seems good for nothing other than attracting dirt from the never cleaned lot. How about some hardwood, folks?)
