Facilities: The facilities at the Seasons are one of the best things that they have to offer. In the second building, there is an indoor heated pool, hot tub, and a steam room that are generally well-kept and surprisingly not crowded. There is a connecting outdoor area with reclining chairs, tables, and grills, which are great for barbeques in the summertime. The fitness center has a fairly comprehensive set of equipment and is also rarely crowded. As a resident, I certainly enjoyed waking up in the morning and taking a high-speed elevator down to the main floor, where I had access to all of these things without even having to step outside. Parking: Parking is available in four-level structure between the two buildings, where spots are assigned and a parking pass/garage door opener are given to residents for an additional monthly fee. Initially, there was a bit of a problem with residents coming home to find that someone had parked in their space. However, the new system in which garage openers are required to enter the lot and signs posted above each spot bear a corresponding license plate number have corrected most of this. Visitor parking is very limited, which makes it sometimes difficult for short-term visitors to enter the gated area and find a temporary place to park. However, street parking is rarely hard to come by, so it is more of a slight annoyance than a significant problem. Noise: The walls are not sound-proof, as they are often advertised online. I was lucky enough to have courteous neighbors. However, I have heard from others in my building that noise has been a significant problem at times. Also, the Seasons went through a recent period of construction where they converted the apartments on the top floors to condos and upgraded many of the rooms as people moved out or extended their lease. It appears that most of this construction is complete, but it should be noted as a potential concern for light sleepers. Construction/Modifications: When the management at the Seasons changed in late 2005, many aspects of the buildings' appearance and the services which the Seasons provided changed. Some noteworthy improvements include the replacement of all of the gym equipment, renovation of the pool area, and replacing the former garage system such that residents could press a button from inside their car as opposed to stopping, rolling down the window, and scanning their card. However, not all changes were positive in the opinions of many residents. The doormen were replaced by a guard at the front of the building who controls access to the newly gated community. Because anyone who waves and nods at the guard will get through the gate with barely an inquiry as to who they are and why they are visiting, this "gate" only provides a facade of exclusivity. On the other hand, it eliminates the convenience of having someone at the door, ready to open the door when your arms are full of groceries or ready to retrieve a spare key when, pajama-clad, you realize that you've locked yourself out on your way to check your laundry. The new owners also changed the outer appearance of the halls, elevators, and entryways. If you ask any of the residents who were around before these changes occurred, they will tell you almost unanimously that the changes are less aesthetically pleasing than their former counterparts. Though seemingly trivial, it created quite a stir amongst residents during the renovation process and is therefore noteworthy. Safety: There have been occasional isolated incidents but, as a young woman, I have never felt threatened or nervous about my safety at any time while living at the Seasons. Residents should have no problems if "common sense" guidelines for urban living are observed. Maintenance: The maintenance staff is excellent at the Seasons. It has been my experience that, within 24 hours of filing a maintenance request, someone will have either taken care of the problem at my convenience or contacted me to set up an service appointment. They are friendly, punctual, and professional. Overall Experience: Judging exclusively from look, location, facilities, and the maintenance/door staff, the Seasons is an excellent place to live. The residents can be sometimes eccentric, but most are either friendly or neutral. The only things that have turned my overall experience sometimes sour are the experiences that I have had in the office. As far as the general staff is concerned, the service is pleasant and ostensibly reliable. However, you will quickly realize they often do not follow through with promises to ameliorate various problems that may crop up during your time as a resident. They also appear not to have a unified understanding of company policies, meaning that you will almost inevitably be in there more than once, trying to resolve the same issue again and again with four different people. The current head manager is very professional, friendly, and--albeit not a pushover by any means--fair. Other members of the management have not been as reasonable and have even at times been extremely rude when problems or issues were presented to them. As far as the overall "feel" of the new ownership at the Seasons of Cherry Creek, it seems that the owners endeavor to deliver the cheapest versions of formerly adequate services (in the form of garage openers that have to be held down for 30 seconds before they actually work, or of coffee machines, formerly available 24 hours/day for free, now available only for a fee, or of replaced carpet that unwinds with normal wear) and simultaneously find new ways of charging fees for every little aspect of living there. This is, by no means, something unheard of in other housing complexes. However, the augmented price that residents pay should afford them more of these seemingly insignificant details, such as complimentary hot chocolate or tea, which in actuality, make the difference in luxury living.
