These folks are a couple and appear to be on a smear campaign. They appear to have gone onto every site possible to blast us for their petty grievances.
To my knowledge, neither of them has set foot in our building. Rather, they are frustrated because we run general ads offering weekly rentals and do not update these daily to have an online availability. We merely ask prospects to call for availability and most requests are for a period well into the future. This is a first for offending a prospect due to an alleged "false ad".
The first correspondence I received from this couple threatened us with false advertising - not a good introduction. We receive several odd calls from the public with strange requests and even stranger threats - its part of the biz and our Manager is quite adept at identifying these.
According to them, we are now responsible (and a poor place to stay) due to social ills 3 blocks away. Yes, we are right downtown and last time I was there, I saw homeless people in various parts of the CBD. Times are tough and we tend to empathize with the homeless rather than use them as a method to smear a business.
We welcome any prospect to tour the area, the building and the units. We are blessed with many multi-year Tenants, most of whom are white-collar professionals working downtown. We also host numerous State Representatives who return annually. We're proud of our building but we cannot avoid angry folks such as these.
I wish them peace and am happy to hear that they found an acceptable place to stay.

Looks like our same guy from our 1-20 response. Have had zero TT issues since he vacated despite being 95-100 % full the past 2 months. We deducted $50 from his deposit due to a Lease violation and this is what we get.

He's on the malice train and can't seem to let go.

Check out the numerous positive reviews and please visit the building yourself to see the exceptional value that we offer.

Due to the anonymity of the review, we cannot be certain of the reviewer. However, given the date, language used and issues noted, we believe this reviewer is a disgruntled former Tenant. This Tenant left the building with a minor breach of the lease and was very difficult to deal with in many negotiations. He often misrepresented the truth and became a nuisance. In fact, he toured the unit he ended up staying in before he took it and was quite happy with the price, condition, and amenities at the time he rented. Now that he has had trouble with the Landlord, everything is a problem. Indicating that the building is poorly light is without merit as our lighting meets local building codes. This Tenant is unaware that the Downtown Denver area is riddled with cockroaches. These roaches enter virtually every downtown building thru storm drains and we have a monthly service that combats the problem rather well. The main evidence that we have seen is in the basement area where residents use a common laundry facility.
His comment that the bathrooms were filthy is without merit as we received no complaints as such and take great pride in cleaning the units before renting them. His comment about the Lease being binding is rather amusing given that is what Leases do for both the Landlord and the Tenant. For every 50 Tenants that come thru our building, only 1 or 2 are ever dealt with on a breach of the Lease but we take pride in maintaining conformity among all residents and clauses in the Lease are meant to protect everyones enjoyment of the premises. We welcome prospects to evaluate the competition in the Downtown Denver area and we believe our value is among the highest available. It is unfortunate that “sour grapes” seem to be the order of the day when former Tenants or Employees become disgruntled. We will maintain our professional standard and will at all times try to be accountable for weaknesses in our management or in our building facility.

In the heart of Downtown Denver, the Cambridge is a lovely little apartment building. I stayed there for 6 weeks in the summer of 2009. The staff was very friendly and the apartment was as advertised and in a great location.

I really enjoyed my summer stay at the Cambridge. As a college student looking for a great experience in the city, The Cambridge was a great choice. It is in the perfect location with all the amenities you need for a 3 month stay. I have no complaints and if I were to go back to Denver again, I would look to stay there again.

Due to the anonymity of the review, we cannot be certain of the identity of the reviewer. However, given the date, language used and issues noted, we believe this reviewer is a disgruntled former employee. We have never in our two years of management of this building heard a complaint about the building being dimly lit or humid. During the winter months, we do seal the windows in many of our units in order to provide reduced air leakage, increased thermal comfort, and reduced heating costs. We have never heard a complaint about our Building Manager being inaccessible. In fact, while managing our building part-time, our Manager is accessible by cell phone for extreme emergencies. Due to the size of the building, we do not keep regular office hours in our Denver building, however the head office in Durango is open 7-3 M-F. We have had American Cockraches in our BASEMENT and we continue to control this minimal impact with appropriate pest management. Our understanding is that most downtown buildings have this type of pest that enters the building through the sewer pipes. The laundry carts are in fact only used by Staff which clearly indicates that this review was from our disgruntled employee. Never have we received a call from a Tenant to seek a remedy to the complaints noted here. Indicating that The Cambridge is high priced is ill-founded given a quick review of the market. We believe we provide one of the best values in the downtown furnished apartment market.Indicating that we are understaffed is outrageous given that we have a part-time Building Manager and had a full-time Maintenance Technician for a 33 UNIT building! The Maintenance Technician position has allowed for significant capital improvements and this provides an onsite staff member to quickly respond to Tenant issues.

The Cambridge building manager, Susie Miller is very welcoming and service oriented. Being from out of town, Susie quickly oriented me with necessities, like local grocery, dry cleaning, YMCA, to name a few.
The Cambridge offered my an updated, clean and quiet living environment that was furnished with a flat screen TV as well as basic furnishings.
The location is very convenient to downtown and all the shopping and entertainment Denver offers.
Overall, the Cambridge exceeded all my expectations and the management went out of there way to serve me as a tenant.
I would recommend the Cambridge.

The Cambridge apartment is conveniently located in downtown Denver, right off of the 16th Street Mall, walking distance to the grocery store, drug store, and lots of great restaurants and bars. The Pepsi Center and Coors Field are nearby as well. It is a great place to stay if you want to experience downtown Denver. It is a quaint building with furnished apartments- perfect for someone without a car who will be in Denver on a short term basis.

The Cambridge proved to be an excellent location for my summer stay in Denver. The convenient location was a short walk from work (in a downtown office building), dining, shopping and more. The free Mall Ride bus is just two blocks away, providing free transportation to even more dining and shopping alternatives. There was plenty of parking nearby, so I rarely had to think about my car. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and on-site laundry was very convenient. And the service was fantastic. When I had a maintenance problem at 1 a.m., the maintenance people were there in about 15 minutes to fix the problem, then checked back the following days to make sure everything was OK. I would definitely return to The Cambridge if I am in Denver again for an extended visit.

I spent three months in The Cambridge apartment building during the summer of 2008. The building’s location is unbeatable – located just blocks from the 16th Street Mall, the State Capitol and many great food and bar options on West Colfax and 17th Street. There are multiple bus stops within blocks and the FREE 16th Street Shuttle can be used for easy access to Denver’s famous LoDo neighborhood, The Pepsi Center and Coors Field. Great apartment for someone who doesn’t own a car.

The building management team was always responsive to the few minor issues I encountered. The building appears to have been converted from a hotel at some point and has retained its charming classic hotel feel. Updated with all the modern amenities, of course!

Due to the anonymity of the review, we cannot be certain of the identity of the reviewer. However, given the low number of units and the timing of the review in relation to move out dates, we are somewhat certain of the source. We trust that you can see from the unconstructive remarks that this reviewer/tenant has a weak regard for professionalism. We believe this review was from a tenant who was also a regular acquaintance of the 5/13/08 Reviewer "Avoid the Cambridge...". This reviewer was also a tenant who was consistently in breach of the "Pet Addendum" to the point where he had to be served with an eviction notice near the end of his lease. ALL tenants must execute the Lease Agreement, which you can view on our website, which clearly outlines the conditions of maintaining a pet in the "Pet Addendum". Our representations on the website and via phonecall are accurate and parking options are clearly outlined. Built in 1952, many of the units have older (but not original) carpet, finishes and furniture; other units have been renovated in the mid-90s. Since managing the building from 8/1/07, the owners have injected a significant investment to upgrade the furniture first and the unit finishes second. It is our understanding that 80-90% of our past tenants have been completely satisfied with the accomodations and management response. We welcome you to review other downtown corporate housing at this price point and we believe we have the best value in the Central Business District.

We believe this review was from a tenant who was a chronic illegal parker in the Loading Zone in front of the building. ALL tenants execute a Lease Agreement, which you can view on our website, which clearly prohibits parking in this Loading Zone.
