Review for The Parkway Apartments

They will take you to the nicest model they got; which will be NOTHING like what you end up moving into. Every little thing in this place broke within the first week or so. This place is way worse than it's nickname, "THE DENVER DORMS". I've lived in a couple dorms, and although they can be crazy, at least there are RA's in the Dorms. There is nobody here to try to control this circus. And the dorms I lived in were concerned about safety. There is constantly broken glass in the street from car windows, the parking gates and entrance doors are never locked, the elevators don't work. Don't listen to them when they say they have a shuttle that takes you downtown, the shuttle is falling apart and is constantly out of commission without notice. Seriously, right now the doors flop open around corners and they have eyebolts and clips that you have to clip everytime you go in and out...no joke, watch it when you see it downtown. The one good thing about this place is the maintenance crew, they are very prompt and dependable. But the problem with it is that the Parkway is unwilling to pay for anything, so they try to fix the same POS up and it continues to break...they refuse to buy anything new or replace anything. I've lived at the Uptown Square and the Metro...both are far above this place. Pay a little more, it'll be worth it. They cannot figure out why their vacancy rate is so much higher than their competitors, but I will let you in on a little secret: 90% of the people do not renew their leases. The reason is both because the apartment does not discriminate about who can live here and end up with irresponsible people who destroy everything and leave trash and dog crap all over the place. And 2- they are unwilling to spend the money to fix things and make this place more liveable. They blame it on their leasing agents, but the thing is they are doing their best to lie and deceive people into living here, but you can shine a turd as long as you want...in the end you just end up with a shiny turd, but it's still a turd.
If you do decide to go against my advice, and do move in here, YOU SHOULD TAKE THE FOLLOWING ADVICE...Pay for an covered parking spot, although it is not secure because gates don't work 90% of the time, at least your car will be less likely of getting side swiped or getting the windows broken, and if you get a surface parking place don't park close to any balconies because stuff WILL get thrown on it. Lock both of your door locks b/c a mentally handicapped monkey could break in with a card if you only lock the handle. Do not get a high up apartment b/c it sucks when the elevators are broken. Since I moved in 5 months ago, the most we've had were 2 of the 3 elevators working, but at times none of them work. Don't live in a lower apartment either though if you are a light sleeper (by light sleeper I mean-you have your ability to hear still). Don't bother calling the office to complain or ask a question...they don't know the answer and they'll be rude and arrogant while giving you an incorrect answer. I've had nothing buy headaches with utilities...your tv is direcTV through Qwest. You share A satellite with the entire building, and good luck getting help if it isn't working. And the Pukeway refuses to upgrade to HD, so don't bother bringing that nice tv. Don't listen to them when they tell you that the heat and A/C is included in the $20 a month you pay for gas...it's not.
