You Don't Want To Live Here

My roommate and I only signed a 10 month lease, and now I'm very happy that's all we have. The very first month we were here the dishwasher flooded the kitchen. We called, it was after 5pm, so the management didn't want to call maintenance because after hours it costs extra, she told us she's sorry, there's nothing she can do, we'll just have to figure it out ourselves. A week later they came back, but after they fixed it, it still leaked. They came back again a few days later and it finally worked. There is one smelly closet in our hall. They came and sprayed it, but it still smells...we don't use that closet. This apartment is literrally falling apart. A chunk of my roommates wall just fell out one day. There is mold all over our bathroom ceiling because that fan doesn't really work. Our bathroom sink is constantly clogging. Our balcony door came off it's tracks, we called them, but they never came to fix it, so we had to fix it ourselves. The apartment was not very thouroughly cleaned prior to move it. Also, the walls are so thin, that several times I have heard the neighbor coughing or peeing. But for the most part, the area I live in is fairly quiet. They left us notices that our heat was too much in the winter and threatened to charge us the extra if we didn't take measures to reduce it, though in the lease they legally can't do that, that's what a fixed utility fee means! And several times they have given same day notice when they turn off the water, it's always in the morning, so most people haven't even woken up yet, so they don't realize this until they try to turn on the water in the morning, and it won't work! Also, they tend to shut it off about 30 min earlier than they say. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is fairly convenient with the no utils. bill, but it is not worth the price, expecially since they're raising prices by $25. They told us they wouldn't raise the prices for existing tenants, but when they talked to us they said that we would have to pay the extra $25.
